Live-In Internship Programs

A limited number of spaces are available for live-in interns, combining all the skills offered at the Ancient Arts Center. Students must participate in the aikido program (no experience necessary to start), farm work, ongoing maintenance and grounds-keeping, and traditional skills and basketry classes including set-up and clean-up afterwards. Interns are also responsible for the needs and comfort of visiting instructors.

Interns may set up tents or tipis, or stay in one of the guest house rooms or covered shelters. A full kitchen, shower and composting toilet are available for intern use. Interns do not pay tuition or rent, but must grow or provide their own food. To enroll, send an essay of approximately two pages stating why you wish to study here and your vision of the combination of the skills offered here. Include previous experience and other supporting materials if you wish.
